Manchester City’s Vladimir Weiss Signs for Espanyol on Loan

Espanyol have announced that they have completed the signing of Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss on a season-long loan deal.
The Slovakia international passed a medical with the Spaniards on Monday morning, with the two clubs reaching an agreement over the transfer in the afternoon.

Weiss, a product of City’s youth ranks, has failed to make his mark at the Premier League club and spent the last year-and-a-half on loan at Bolton and Rangers.

The 21-year-old, who has become Espanyol’s fifth signing of the summer, has been called up for Slovakia’s upcoming Euro 2012 qualifying matches against Republic of Ireland and Armenia.
