Real Madrid Midfielder Shocked By Arrests Over Some Photos Of Him And His Girlfriend (pics included)

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has been shocked over the arrests of three Tunisian journalists who published pictures of the him and his girlfriend in a popular magazine.

The German international, whose father is Tunisian, posed for the semi-erotic pictures with his girlfriend, Lena Gercke, in GQ magazine, three journalists from Tunisian newspaper Attounissia have been arrested publishing the images.

Khedira speaking to German newspaper Bild said – ‘‘I heard about the matter on Thursday evening and find it very, very sad and unfortunate that such a thing happened.

‘‘I respect the different religions that exist and also the faith that people have, but I cannot understand that people cannot express themselves freely.’’

The pictures in the GQ magazine show Khedira and his model girlfriend in various postions semi naked while one shot shows only Khedira’s arm covering the breasts of his girlfriend, the pictures have caused quite a stir in Tunisia.

The organisation, Reporters Without Borders, have came out and called for the release of the three immediately, the three that are in custody are two journalists and also the newspaper’s managing director, who could face a lenghty five year stretch in jail.

Khedira is just coming back from injury and is trying to force his way back into the Real Madrid team, he came off the bench on Saturday night as Madrid beat 10 man Racing Santander 4-0.
