Mick McCarthy has been sacked by Wolves this morning.
McCarthy leaves the club with immediate effect after the Wolves board decided to terminate his contract after the heavy 5-1 defeat to West Brom.
The club Board said it was a very “difficult” decision to sack Mick McCarthy, who brought Wolves back into the Premier League and also kept them up the last 2 season’s aswell.
Wolves have picked up only 21 points in 25 League matches so far this season and sit 18th in the table, the board were hoping to kick on up the table this season to mid table saftey but things haven’t gone to plan.
Terry Connor will take charge of first team training until a new manager is appointed.
The Board thanked McCarthy for his achievements at the club and said he leaves with the very best wishes of everyone connected to the club.
McCarthy took charge of Wolves during the summer of 2006 and promised promotion to the top flight within three years which he delivered.
