Cristiano Ronaldo not happy with the referee in the 1 nil win over Dinamo Zagreb

Cristiano-Ronaldo-real-madrid-1
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was furious with Norwegian referee Oddvar Moen following his side’s narrow 1-0 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb in the teams’ Group D opener on Wednesday night.
Ronaldo was subjected to some rough treatment by the Croatian side’s defenders and finished the game with a bloody ankle, which needed stitches in the dressing room later on.

And after the match, the Portuguese claimed the official should have offered more protection to his side.

“He was an embarrassment,” Ronaldo said, according to Marca.

“I hope this referee never takes charge of another of our games because he is an embarrassment,” he added, in reference to the official’s failure to punish the home side and his dismissal of Marcelo, who was shown two yellow cards – the second for diving.

After the game, which Madrid won thanks to Angel Di Maria’s second-half strike, assistant coach Aitor Karanka – deputising for the suspended Jose Mourinho – revealed Ronaldo had needed medical attention.

“He’s having stitches in the dressing room,” the Basque said. “Let’s hope it’s nothing worse than that.”

Madrid top the table after Ajax and Lyon could only draw in the group’s other match.
