Former Real Madrid manager Guus Hiddink is interested in begining the next England manager following the shock resignation of Fabio Capello according to Sky Sports.
Fabio resigned on Wednesday night after talking with the Football Association following their decision to take the captain’s armband off John Terry.
The FA never talked to Fabio about the decision and because of that he has felt the need to quit as England manager. The FA are now after a new manager and they have previously stated they are keen for the next boss to be English, with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp a hot favourite.
However, the experienced Guus Hiddink has reportedly put himself in the race to become the next England boss and has welcomed an approach from the FA.
The 65-year-old is a proven international manager with a number of teams in major tournaments.
Hiddink’s biggest achievements include leading Holland to the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup, as well as guiding South Korea to a fourth-placed finish in the 2002 edition of the tournament.
