Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a £20 million bid to sign Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell in January transfer window as Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas looks bring in young players for the future.
Chelsea Manager Andre Villas-Boas is believed to have joined title rivals Man United & Man City in tracking the young English midfielder, who did make his full England debut earlier this year.
Villas-Boas has made no secret of dropping big name players for more younger fresher players with the likes of Oriel Romeu,Daniel Sturridge and Raul Meireles all establishing themselves in the starting line up over the last few months.
And it is also understood that AVB sees Jack Rodwell as a great replacement for the aging Frank Lampard in the centre of midfield.
It wont help Everton that they revealed earlier in the season that they have major debts so Chelsea will know that and have that as a bargaining tool if they are serious about landing Rodwell, altho David Moyes did say this to the media – “I’ve always said if any club is going to come and try to take our better players, we don’t sell cheap. It’s expensive to buy from us.”
