Tom Cleverley and Frazier Campbell have been handed their first call-up’s to the full England squad by caretaker manager Stuart Pearce.
Micah Richards has also been brought back in to the England squad since Fabio Capello resigned as England Manager, left out were Rio Ferdinand, Andy Carroll and Frank Lampard.
Arsenal hotshot Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had been hotly tipped for his first call up to the senior squad, remains in the Under-21 squad.
Manchester United young midfielder Cleverley was expected to be called up to face Holland next Wednesday at Wembley.
Pearce has selected a mix of senior and inexperienced players, with Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole all included. The caretaker boss has not named a captain in the squad released to the media on Thursday morning.
Unsurprisingly, 11 of the 25 players figure for the two title chasers, Manchester United and Manchester City. Oddly, there are three right-backs – Kyle Walker, Glen Johnson and the recalled Micah Richards – as well as United defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.
