Chelsea are preparing a summer move for two of Newcastle United’s best players, with a planned £30 million offer for holding midfielder Cheick Tiote and goalkeeper Tim Krul, according to The Independent.
The Stamford Bridge club are looking to rebuild their ageing squad and see the Newcastle duo as the two players to start the rebuilding. Cheick Tiote has been attracting alot of attention from many clubs in the Premier League after an impressive two seasons in English football.
Tim Krul meanwhile, is being lined up as Petr Cech’s replacement, the Dutchman is fast becoming one of the most best and most consistent goalkeepers in the league. He is currently in his seventh year with Newcastle, they signed him for a meagre £200,000 from Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag back in 2005, although Chelsea believe a fee of around £10 million would bring the 23-year-old to west London.
In Tiote’s case, they think that £20 million will be enough to secure the deep lying midfielder, a nice £15 million profit for Newcastle if they were to sell on the Ivory Coast international.
