Transfer Rumours 2012 – Liverpool are closely monitoring Dutch side PSV Eindhoven pair Georginio Wijnaldum and Kevin Strootman ahead of a possible raid in January or more likely next summer. Liverpool’s director of football Damien Comolli has sent scouts to watch the Dutch international’s several times this season already and is said to be very impressed by the duo.
Liverpool Manager Kenny Dalglish has brought in a number of young players to the Liverpool squad this season and last, Daglish see’s Strootman as a central midfielder with great potential and a bid from Liverpool may well come in next months January transfer window.
Kevin Strootman is a powerfully built midfielder who is a box to box type of player,he has impressed greatly since his move from Utrecht to PSV. The is 6ft 1in ball winner also has an eye for goal and is a regular in the Dutch international squad of late.
Georginio Wijnaldum is more of an attacker who is very verstile, he can play in a advanced midfield role in behind the striker or more effectively out on either wing. Wijnaldum moved from Feyenoord to PSV in the summer simlar to Strootman. He has also been a very consistent performer in the Dutch league for the past four seasons. Wijnaldum made his Dutch International debut in September against San Marino and also got on the score sheet as they hammered San Marino 11-0.
Dalglish believes that Liverpool could well get the two youngsters for around £22 million wheather that is in the January transfer window or in the summer transfer window we will have to wait and see.
