Manchester United midfielders Paul Pogba and Anderson are out for the rest of the season United boss Ferguson confirmed today.
Paul Pogba has injured his ankle in a recent reserve game earlier this week and will miss the rest of the season whilst Anderson has been battling to recover from a hamstring injury, Ferguson admitted that both will not play again this season.
Sir Alex told the media on Friday - “Anderson is not going to play again this season and Paul got injured on Monday and he is out for the season.”
To be fair, neither were expected to play a big role over the next four games anyway.
However, the United boss confirmed that Michael Owen is back training and could well have a part to play, if not against Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday, then the following games against Manchester City, Swansea and Sunderland.
Ferguson continued – “I have said time and time again that Michael is a player who can score important goals if you are struggling in a match.
“He has had a hard time with injuries. When he gets them it is usually months.”
Ashley Young has also shaken off a minor knock and is available for the game against Everton on Sunday.
