Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho refused to speak to the Spanish media after he was sent off during the draw against Villarreal were the game ended 1-1 on Wednesday night.
Madrid were on course to win three big points at El Madrigal thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal just after the hour mark, but Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna equalised with a free kick with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
Mourinho was then shown a red card shortly after Villarreal made it 1-1 for protesting the decision to award the free kick that lead to the goal, thus forcing the Portuguese to join his colleague Rui Faria in the stands, with the assistant coach having been sent off earlier in the game.
los blancos then lost the plot on the field, with Sergio Ramos and then Mesut Ozil both getting themseleves sent off with second yellow cards in the closing stages of the game as Madrid ended the game nine men.
So over the space of five days Real Madrid’s 10 point lead has now been cut to six and Madrid still have to travel to the Nou Camp so the title race is hotting up nicely in Spain.
