Lukas Podolski has came out and said that the deal to join Arsenal at the end of the season is far from done, and instead insisted he would rather move to Lazio and play alongside countryman Miroslav Klose.
The English media reported earlier this week that Podolski’s move to Arsenal was pretty much done, with Arsenal sending a medical team to Germany so he could undergo a medical to get the deal done.
It was also reported that Arsenal had agreed a £10.9 million fee with Cologne for the German international, however the 26-year-old’s agent refuted claims that a medical had taken place and that the deal was done yesterday.
Podolski appears to have now put the breaks on things by insisting his future hasn’t been decided yet, while also stating that he would like to move to Lazio to link up with his former International colleague Klose.
Podolski told Il Corriere dello Sport – “It would be great to play alongside him again, Miro has spoken well of Lazio and he’s happy in Rome.
“My future has yet to be decided.”
Podolski is having a great season at his has boyhood club, were he has scored 16 goals in 21 games, he is also third in the highest scorer charts in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal are keen to add to their attacking line up for next season after seeing Robin van Persie shoulder much of the responsibility for scoring the goals that will fire them to a top four spot during this campaign.
The Dutchman has found the back of the net 26 times in the Premier League so far, however the club’s second highest top scorer, Theo Walcott, has just eight goals to his name.

go 2 lazio…….
Sensationalist journalism. He did not say he would rather play for Lazio, the headline is a lie just to get views. He said he’d like to play alongside Klose at Lazio and he has also been quoted as saying that he’d like to play for Arsenal. I might say that I like watching Barcelona but that doesn’t mean I prefer Barca to Arsenal. Eden Hazard has said that he’d like to play for about 10 clubs so far.
